Nature has drawn me in ever since I can remember. The wilderness has given me
some incredible adventures and has always felt like home to me.
Although I seek to learn more about humans and their culture through filmmaking,
at times it seems I understand animals better and vice versa.
Therefore I continue to be inspired by nature and often seek it out in my work.
While staying at a small cabin near the forests and plains of The Veluwe,
I made my first ever nature photography series. Although not equipped with the usual
wildlife photography supplies, such as a telephoto lens, I managed to get
as close as I could to the animals surrounding me.
The experience has taught me a lot: I found it interesting to create a picture
in which the animal interacts with its surroundings –
sometimes traces of humans can be seen as well.
I will continue documenting my adventures in the wild
and exploring the contrast (or harmony?) between humans and nature.
